Level 1 Development Coaching Course

HKHA Promotion & Development Section will launch a Level 1 Development Coaching Course 2009-2010 in March 2010.  The course is targeted for coaches to become qualified for coaching at junior or beginner level at schools, clubs and local community programs. The course conductor is Mrs. Tina Bell-Kake (Level 3 Coach in New Zealand)

Pakistan Association Premier Division Champions

For many teams, the 2009-10 hockey season was just half over, but for Pakistan Association, it was a momentous weekend as Pakistan Association A team was crowned as the new champions of the Premier Division for the first time in 43 years of the clubs history at the top division.  The team was undefeated in the season scoring a total 96 goals in fourteen matches to claim the title.  Many congratulations!!

 

Pakistan Association was already the cup winner of this years Guru Nanak Hockey Tournament.  They would enter the Premier Division Super Cup playoff with KCC, HKFC and (either Shaheen or Valley) starting this Sunday.  The Premier Division Plate would be played between the four lower ranking teams of the division.



Hong Kong Win EAG Bronze

Hong Kong made legend yesterday winning bronze medals in the EAG mens hockey event.  A full house turned up to support the home team against China.  Both teams went to the changing room at half time with two goals a piece.  Both Hong Kong goals were field goals by Asghar Ali.

 

China scored again at 49th minute in the second half while Hong Kong resilience continued with backing by the home crowd.  A penalty corner was awarded to Hong Kong just as the hooter went.  Arif Ali drag flick put the match to extra time. 

 

Hong Kong put pressure on China straight away in extra time.  Arif Ali and Asghar Ali set up an attack to the left of the circle and a cross ball to Swalikh Mohammad to score the golden goal.

 

In the gold medal match, Korea beat Japan 3-2.

 

In the womens event, Hong Kong came 4th position losing to Japan in the Bronze medal match. Korea beat China in the gold medal match while

East Asian Games Hockey Match Schedule

Hong Kong Hockey Association is pleased to announce the match schedule of the East Asian Games hockey competition starting on 5 December 2009 (Sat).  The hockey competition will feature Korea, Japan, China, Macau and Hong Kong in the men's competition while Korea, Japan, China, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong in the women's competition.  There are matches everyday throughout the Games period and the finals will be played on 12 & 13 December 2009 (Sat & Sun).

Hockey Training Courses for Adults 2009/10 (Beginner Level)

The Hockey Training Course for Adults 2009/10 is now open for enrolment.  There are two Beginner Courses (19 Sep 2009 - 20 Feb 2010) and one Intermediate Course (6 Mar - 24 Apr 2010) which cover different levels of skills for beginner and intermediate level hockey players.  The courses are designed to equip you with basic skills that will enable you to participatie in the winter league.  The number of places is limited, so act now.  The application form can be downloaded here.
