Keio University Womens Hockey Tour Top Japanese hockey side, Keio University take on three of our local ladies club sides this weekend. Keio produced several internationals for Japans Beijing Olympic team. Keio is Japanese equivalent of Oxford or Harvard University and will be closely supported with a large Japanese fans from the Keio-Old Boys/Girls Hong Kong Assn members. 6 Dec. Guru Nanak Hockey Tournament 2008 The Guru Nanak Hockey Tournament sponsored by the Khalsa Diwan will be held this weekend, Sunday 23 November at HKFC and HV 1 & 2. Please find enclosed the tournament rules and fixtures. Lunch and afternoon tea with pakoras will be served, all are cordially invited.

9-a-side Tournament News The 9-a-side tournaments for the Women's 2nd to 5th divisions were played over the last two week-ends. The competitions were very close with the 4th division winner decided by a penalty shootout. A big thank you goes to all the volunteers who individually helped run the separate tournaments and the participating teams for putting in a lot of effort . The events ran smoothly and players had the full afternoon to enjoy hockey and mingle socially. The 9-a-side tournament for the 1st division teams will be held in the second round of the season. Like previous years, we will also have the Knockout Tournament and the 7-a-side Tournaments. Schedules for these will be published later. Stay tuned ..... Hong Kong wins Worldhockey Youth Challenge 2008 Hong Kong Hockey Association is very pleased to announce that FIH has selected Hong Kong as one of the prize winners of the Worldhockey Youth Challenge 2008 for our exceptional way in meeting the central theme - Live the Dream, celebrating 100 years of Olympic Hockey - among other four winning nations Chile, Malawi, New Zealand and Poland. http://www.fihockey.org/vsite/vcontent/content/transnews/0,10869,1181-18543-19728-28355-291108-9199-5039-layout169-19693-news-item,00.html The prize is a player of the Olympic Gold winning womens team to visit Hong Kong on a ambassador tour to conduct workshop and clinic, meeting with our players in 2009. JohnWing Junior Hockey Beginner Course (Age: 8-12) Promoton & Development Section will organize a Junior Hockey Beginner Course (Age: 8-12) at JohnWing Tseung Kwan O centre. Hockey Training Course for Adults (Beginner Level) The Hockey Training Course for Adults 2008/09 is now open for enrolment. There are two Beginner Courses (6 Sep - 20 Dec 2008) and one Intermediate Course (3 Jan - 21 Feb 2009) which cover different levels of skills for beginner and intermediate level hockey players. The courses are designed to equip you with basic skills that will enable you to participatie in the winter league. The number of places is limited, so act now. Junior Hockey Promotion Scheme 2008/2009 The Junior Hockey Promotion Scheme 2008/2009 is now open for enrolment. There are 5 phases in this scheme which covers different hockey skills for beginner, intermediate and advance levels, plus a 9-a-side tournament and a summer hockey camp.
