Matches on weekdays

There are two weekday teams this season: HKJ A and HKUHC A.

For players who are selected to these 2 teams, they should play for the HKHA weekday team when playing against their own club, unless permission is granted by the coach.

For teams playing against HKUHC at time 1850 or 1900, the players from their lower-ranked teams participating in these matches are exempted from the competition bye-laws 7.2(b) (the 3 matches rule), i.e. these matches will not be counted for the 3 matches limit.

E-match Card

Please refer to the Competition bye-laws Section 14, it is the home team captain’s responsibility to ensure the umpire submit the score to the system before leaving the pitch. Penalty will be imposed for late submission.

Experimental Bye-laws

"U21 players (players who are born on or after 1st January 2001) are allowed to play for the next higher-ranked team or the next lower-ranked team of his designated team during the first round of the season without binding by Competition bye-laws 7.2 and 7.4 (No player movement to Premier teams during first 3 matches).”

The bye-laws 7.2(b) (the 3 matches rule) will apply when the higher-ranked team has entered the second round, and bye-laws 7.2(a) – a player cannot play for a lower-ranked team unless obtaining the approval of the Committee – will also apply when the lower-ranked team has entered the second round.

The club needs to confirm the U21 player's designated team after the first round of his first designated team, and Competition bye-laws 7.2 is applicable in the second round.

Example 1:

If a U21 player is registered for a B team, he is allowed to play in the A team and C team, and he is also allowed to move up to play in Premier Division within the first 3 matches.

Example 2:

If the A team has entered the second round and the U21 player has played for the A team, the matches he has played with be counted according to the Competition bye-laws 7.2(b) - the 3 matches rule.  Once he has played 4 League matches for the higher-ranked teams, he will be automatically registered for the highest-ranked team that he has played for and cannot play for any other lower-ranked team thereafter without the approval of the Committee.

Example 3:

If the C team has entered the second round and the U21 player would like to play for the C team, he cannot play for the C team unless he has obtained the approval of the HKHAMS Committee according to Competition bye-laws 7.2(a).

Protective equipment

To better protect our youth players, all U21 players are required to wear full protective equipment during all leagues matches.  Full protective equipment include: 1. Mouth guard, 2. Protective glove and 3. Shin guards.

Extra No Play Day Request

In respond to the uncertainty we may face this season, the committee entitles each team to have 2 No Play Day Request, one in the first half and one in the second half.  Teams who would like to exercise their No Play Day Request for the second half of the season should inform the committee (email to: roychan@hockey.org.hk & jowiewong@hockey.org.hk) on or before 15th December 2022.

Covid Guidelines

Please ensure that your club and players are aware of and comply with the HKHA Hockey Activities: Guidelines and Special Arrangements on Prevention of COVID-19 (and any updates). These can be found at http://www.hockey.org.hk/Content.asp?Uid=1186.

If any players are found positive to Covid-19 within 2 days after league matches, please immediately inform the committee.
