HockeyHKWS 26-27 Circular No. 13 - WL 2026/27 Female Umpire Issue
Dear Convenors,
Further to the responses we had received from few clubs by email or and direct messages regarding Prem to D2 teams required to fulfil 100% female umpire to umpire club duty. After a quick discussion with the WS committee we decided to postpone this rule until October. Therefore, all club umpire duty can be fill up with all gender for 19th & 26th September respectively.
We understand that the team has difficulties so we would like to gather more information after all the umpire refresher course done this week. WS will further review according to the numbers of registered umpires and TP from each club/team and determine what we are going to do and make all the teams feel more comfortable to achieve in this season.
Last but not least we are trying to improve female umpire numbers but we do need your support to work as a group for our hockey community and make WS hockey better. We welcome any supports and recommendation for our consideration.
Best regards,
Kitty Yau
WS Committee Member
